Jay Chou Concert Tickets
Okay, so I'm supposed to wake up early tomorrow morning to line up to get Jay Chou tickets for me and half a dozen other friends!!! AH! I hope I get them! So wanna go to this concert! I hope he performs like his mtv where he just strips off his shirt. Hahaha... WAH!
Hmm, kinda reminds me of saturday when we went to Tai O. Apparently there are pretty good looking guys in the small fishing village. Well, I guess good looking cuz like all my eyes were looking at were the crazy dragon tattoo and the muscles. So, working hard has it's advantages...in more than one perspective. ;) Crazy abs. Not the kind where you go to the gym and do the same thing over and over again cuz you wanna look good. The kinda abs and muscles that actually have...substance...haha...cuz they got it while labouring in the sun. Anyways...gotta stop this temporary drift in thought right here.
So, I'm gonna have to buy 7 Jay Chou tickets cuz everyone else is in Thailand!! Feeling sad that I'm missing out, but I didn't want to pay the overpriced $2100HKD for the trip to only Thailand. Still can't wait to get my HKID!! Oh wellz, I'll sleep now cuz I have to wake up early to show my dedication in wanting to go to this concert. Lol. By the way, Jay Chou is in North America in December. Doesn't seem like there's concert in Taiwan right now cuz they just finished over there. =\ Muhahaha...sorries.
Cut Eyes
Yesterday I went on this Hong Kong excursion organized by the CUHK exchange department. It was fun, but not THAT fun. We went to the great buddha on Lantau Island, ate a vegetarian lunch, then bused to Tai O fishing village. We did some shopping in Tai O, mainly weird looking food and drinks. Anyway, at the monastery the most fun we had was when everyone was trying to get their fortune done by shaking those sticks. Haha. It just wouldn't come out! People were kneeling there shaking away, harder and softer, but it took them SO long to finally get one. It was pretty hilarious. I got one pretty quickly though, since I was standing next to my friend, so all the sticks were kinda tilted parallel to the floor. I almost dropped like 50-something sticks.
My stick was lot 32. Talks about how there's a precious jade in a stone and if it's properly mined, the jade would be mine. Kinda made me think about my grandfather, who gave me my chinese name. Oh well, in the end my fortune was just a bunch of crap cuz the whole point was that I'd succeed if I work at it. Lol. Thankfully I didn't drop all the sticks causing a scene. ;)
What did cause a scene was this huge ass spider, the size of my hand, that was on it's web on top of a bunch of flowers. You can see it as you walk down the stairs heading towards the monastery cuz there was a big group of people just surrounding the ugly thing, taking pictures. And I thought people took a lot of pictures of the buddha, I think they equally took a lot of pictures of that dang spider. I don't mean tarantula either, no no, although I guess you should classify it that way. It was like a humongo daddy long legs, only it drank some spiderman super potion. I didn't have to walk up close to see it's shape if you know what I mean. For those of you who know I'm arachniphobic, you can guess-timate how far I was standing. HAHA.
That night, we went to Lan Kwai Fong, AGAIN, cuz nobody wanted to hit up Cyber. Come on! Stop the hip hop/rap thing and try out the Techno already! There was a better crowd this time, relatively. Haha. But we had a lot of fun, before we half of us got shafted by C Club and the other half got angry cuz we got shafted. Of course, I was one of them, cuz I don't look 21. But I could walk into any club no problem, just C Club I couldn't. I have no idea why they like to go there.
On the subway to LkF, I learned that there were 2 types of cut-eye. The first cut-eye being what I normally give, is the I'm-cursing-you-cuz-you're-horrible cut eye. The second cut-eye is I'm-looking-at-you-but-I-don't-want-you-to-know cut-eye. Haha. The first one being what girls and gay guys normally give. The second being what, not-so-cute-guys-who-rightly-so-aren't-confident-about-themselves, give. Lol. Thanks to Steph for clarifying.
Thankfully, nobody got wasted that night, I would not have wanted to take care of anyone. I guess it's cuz nobody really drank, which is good, cuz nobody had the opportunity to push me to drink! Everybody wants to see how everyone else is when they're wasted.
Anyway, mid-autumn festival soon. Dunno what I'm doing yet. But trust me, I'm not drinking like they are. Crazy Europeans going wild. It's like the soccer team in Eurotrip. Anyhow, I'll probably wanna go out and light candles in lanterns on the beach with a friend of mine or just down on the street. My roommate already gave me mooncake. =) mmmm...
Business Forecasting Craziness
In class right now. Oh boy. This business forecasting is HARD. I feel SO stupid during class when the prof is asking me questions. It's like I've done everything like this before in MGTS 3000 but we all know how incompetent Lakats was and how nobody understood anything, so we just followed the equation and got the right answer. That is, everyone but Vince that is. So now he's asking me what a normal distribution is or a t-distribution and I don't know what he's asking me for cuz to me, a normal distribution is the bell curve they use in school. The same curve that made Vince Wong get the same Finance mark as me, only his tests were always higher and I worked my ass off while he didn't. =) heh heh...MUHAHAHA...sucker.
Okay okay, so turns out the prof was asking me the parameters of the normal distribution. Okay, I know that. Of course that's after he lectured us on how important it was to know about all the distributions. Then he says that there are some z numbers we should memorize like our times-tables. Gay...
Anyways. The prof is asking what correlogram is in chinese. *mind wandering*
Last week saturday I went to sing K with Sophia and some of her friends. I have pictures! Only I don't know how to upload them onto this page. See, cuz it's not really done yet. =P Singing K was fun, but there was this small cockroach, so I couldn't concentrate. Yesterday, I also went to the campus next door for this outdoor sale. But it was raining so hard and thundering, they moved inside. It was pretty fun. Except the trip to the next college proved harder than you might think. I don't mind rain, or getting wet. I'm not scared of thunder or lightning...in Toronto! Here in HK, the thunder is SO loud and the lightning looks so close, it's pretty freaky. I wouldn't wanna get wet in this rain either. Thinking about all the ugly smog and black stuff and stench evaporating into the water droplets shooting down at me is just digusting. It can't be considered acid rain, more like toxic rain. I have pictures and videos of that too.
Anyway, gonna mail my package today to try and get an HKID. Possibly shopping on thursday, and dinner on friday with a friend. Hmm, right now I have an intense desire to study because of my displayed stupidity in class. *sigh*
The Discovery of BT
I spent the whole day in my room today. Well, cuz I felt lazy and cuz I skipped laundry day. Saturday is my laundry day, so when I skip laundry day I also skip my readings. If I skip my readings and fall behind I'll get that e-mail from G about catching up. Haha.
Today, I discovered the world of Bit Torrent. Okay, so I'm a little slow in this day and age of advanced technology, in which that technology can also aid computer illiterates like me to easily break copyright laws. At least I wasn't bored today. Or, probably will never be again. The thought of needing to go to Shen Zhen to buy movies has now been vanquished.
Next step: learning to make these winamp files into vcds, so my parents can watch it too. Bye bye Blockbuster and your stupid 10am return policy.
Wow, can't believe it's almost a month now. Oh my, it's almost been a month and I haven't really done anything!! I miss everyone back home. I'm hungry too. Normally the stress of Schulich would be getting to me right about now, making me lose my appetite. But here, I'm hungry all the time cuz of all the energy I need to get through each day. Today I ate a bowl of instant noodles for lunch. Hmm, I'm hungry now too, I guess I'll eat another bowl of instant noodles. Where's Pizza Pizza when you need it?!
Just Branding
Today was so bad. I had a horrible headache, my head felt like a brick. I was also carrying litres and litres of liquid. Aiya. It was so heavy. The plastic bag marks on my arm haven't disappeared yet.
On the other hand, I can finally take pictures and upload!! Because. Hee hee, I got a digital camera! But.. SSHHH!!! Don't tell. I got the Pentax Optio s40. Nice and sleek looking, small in my hand and light. Okay, so it's not a Canon, or Sony. But just like my Fujitsu against the big corporate IBMs, it works great, and I love it. =P It's got 4.0 Megapixels, although 3.2 is good enough; 3x optical zoom and digital zoom; runs on 2 AA batteries so I won't have to be worried about forgetting to recharge a stupid li-ion, and other neat features.
Anyway, my friends are planning on going to Macau tomorrow. Still wondering if I should join them, cuz it's gonna be $300 HKD round trip. I'll also be spending money there too. *sigh* If I pay my invoice now, I'm gonna have like $80 HKD in my bank account. Which is enough for 1 day's worth of lunch and dinner. Oh wellz, I have 4 days ration of cup noodles.
Starved
I never thought I'd miss the fast food at York or the campus food at Brock. It really sucks when the only canteen you have in your college, happens to be the worst canteen in all of campus. If it weren't for the cookies in my room, I think I'd starve to death. Oh yes, and the vitamines my mom told me to bring have probably been helping me prolong my life. Tomorrow, I think I'm gonna go out and buy kitchen utensils, a small pot or frying pan and a bowl to eat out of.
I didn't go anywhere today, I stayed in my room the whole day and I didn't feel like busing down to central campus to get food. So, I thought I'd give my college canteen another try. Chicken. Chicken is fool-proof right? You can't screw up cooking chicken. Boy was I wrong. I guess I'll have to cook my own chicken from now on. I miss the easily accessible foods at home and the horrible selection at the Student Centre. Oh yes, I miss the overly priced because Schulich has to have a better more elite coffee shop, Timothy's. *sniff* That horrible looking japanese place at York Lanes, and the old run down looking Blueberry Hill. Oh ya, that taco place across from Second Cup is like the best place ever. I can't even get a buttered sesame bagel from Timmie's.
I guess I'll have to buy food to put in the public refrigerator even if my food gets stolen. =( At least I'll have something cold to drink when I need it. *waahhh* I need to meet a friend on my floor that cooks.
It All Came Back
They found my pencil case!!! I'm so happy!!! So someone didn't steal it after all. But I wonder why it took a week. Well, I dunno, I haven't picked it up yet so I'm not sure if everything that I had in it is still inside. Oh well, everything inside can be replaced.
Some odd reason my tutorial for Local Culture and Religion in China was cancelled today. I went to the classroom and nobody was there. There were no posts or anything. See, I wouldn't mind if the classroom was next door, but of course it's on the other side of campus.
Aiya, so much stuff to pay. I still have to pay for hostel. My mailbox at the IASP is SO far too. *sigh* It's 2:30pm. If I leave now to go to the OAL office, and eat and pick up my pencil case at UC, I'll probably make it just in time for my 5:30 class at LKK. Alrighty. Crap. I gotta wait for the 2:50 bus. *sigh*
Losing Direction
Today, was a weird day. I felt like I lost my sense of direction. I was walking in circles in the streets of Mong Kok trying to look for some store I swear I passed. I couldn't even recognize the colours at each station. I even got up and started walking off the train at the wrong one.
Today a friend of mine was also asking me for advice on a topic I didn't want to think about. That's okay I guess, becuase technically I should think about it. Being on the other side of the world doesn't mean I've temporarily stopped all thought that originated from the side I came from. Okay, my thought process is confused. Trying to write in a way that makes sense is hard, cuz my brain is just not thinking straight.
Anyways, I think I'll call it a night, after I post my checkpoint on dhsonline before G kicks me out.
Making Jaez Proud
I bought clothes today!! Haha...yea it sounds weird proclaiming it. Most people won't understand why the idea that I bought clothes is blog worthy. Trust me. These clothes aren't my normal white or black cotton crew neck style. =) Thus, Jaez will be proud of me. Lol. I'm not turning fobby! I just like my clothes a little more loose, with thin material that have extra flaps for no reason whatsoever. Now all I need is the courage to wear it outside. It was cheap! Even with the extra flappy material, even if it's thin and flowy. At least there's tank tops underneath, so I'm getting 2 layers for the price of one? ANYWAYS.
Yesterday my mom's friend took me out the whole day. We went to dim sum, then her place at Repulse Bay. Her apartment is huge in comparison to Sophia's Uncle's place. There's a dining table and a guest room. Then they made me go back to CU to show them my dorm. In which she commented by saying how drab it was and she asked if I missed my "Princess Bed". SSHHH...for those who haven't seen my bed before, it's NOT princess! Just high off the floor. HAHA.
She also took me to look at new apartments that they were thinking of buying in Tai Po. The new apartment has a room for the help, which I have never seen before. There's one bed underneath the stairs. The helpers room connects directly to the kitchen and to it's own bathroom. It can't even be called a bathroom cuz it's the size of a shower stall (a small shower stall). Imagine a shower stall, now put in a toilet on one side and a sink on the other side of the wall. Then there's a shower head above the sink. That's the whole "washroom". The apartment even has a balcony! The agent was calling it for $6,600,000HKD. Yup, the exchange rate is 6.042 now from my latest bank statement, so that's around $1M Cdn. The view wasn't even great, the highest is the 5th floor. Well, 6th because the 1st floor isn't the ground floor.
Then, of course, she took me to a flee market and then to buy seafood for our seafood dinner. I swear I'm never buying seafood here again. It's so disgusting. I saw huge bug like creatures, called big "peeing shrimp". HAHAHA (Please don't mind my horrible translating skills). Then she made me eat snails that were still in the shell. I can eat escargo, but really. I had to pick the dead snail out of it's shell, and cut off the intenstines before I could eat it. Hmm... The whole experience of buying live shrimp and lobsters, asking them to take it up to the restaurant, ordering our dishes with the waiter as we watch the live seafood get tossed into the kitchen, then seeing it end up on my dinner table, as I pull of the shell or pick out the meat and put it in my mouth... I dunno what to think. I just know the food was good and the whole time I was thinking about Jon. And laughing. HAHAHA... I never thought I could feel so dumb about eating. I never thought someone had to teach me how to eat. The kids were practically teaching me how to eat each dish. "THIS is how you pull the shell off the shrimp...see, layer by layer...yea, like that...take out the snail with the smaller fork...no no don't eat that part you'll get sick, cut OFF the white part, you EAT the black part...ya you can eat the gooey green stuff."
*sigh* Gotta get my HK ID, so then I can go on that field trip my prof is taking us on for my class, Local Culture and Religion in China. He's taking us to Northern Guang Zhou. The class talks about Hak Ga, Guang Dong, Chiu Zhou, etc etc and how each type of people came about and their culture. Then my mind started to drift, thinking about Nevin and G and their weird dialect that only they can understand.
Oh ya, I've tried to cut down on the Blackcurrent Pastilles and started taking up Pretz Roast. I'm hoping it's a heathier choice. Lol.
You gettin' it?
I'm so happy! I got my Studio Ghibli DVD Collection today!! The box set of all movies from Hayao Miyazaki. YAY!! Totoro, Castles in the Sky, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and etc. WAH!!! I had another Mango drink with Mango Jelly today. It's so good! I've given up bubble tea. Did I mention I got my box set of Hayao Miyazaki movies yet? =)
Oh ya, I finally found the thing my friends were telling me about. That special small bottle of miracle solution that HK girls drink that helps them stay skinny. It's called Fancl Extra Slim Up. The images promoting this thing is just wrong. Fancl is like a store that sells slim: "shape design", "perfect slim", "calorie limit". I was bombarded as soon as I stepped in, as with every other store. Scary.
I lost my pencil case!!!! =( My strawberry pencil case... I'm so sad. I tried to find another one, but they just aren't the same. So I bought a strawberry pencil by Kit-che Kiss and a key chain, but still. I want my pencil case.
My roommate went to a bbq by the beach today... cuz I went walking with Norman down Nathan Rd. and surrounding area. Oh wellz, home on a saturday night. I'll watch my dvd box set. hee hee... I could really go for another mango drink with mango jelly now. Oh wellz, gotta wake up tomorrow to go eat dim sum with my god mother. If anybody sees my pencil case in TO, get it for me please!!!
Going shopping with the girls is so funny. Every single time we see something everyone has to think about whether to get it or not. Especially me and Steph. So...you getting it already?! lol. Jen on the other hand, we have to persuade her that she doesn't need it. Shopping for clothes isn't working for me over here. I divide by 5 for everything, and everyone else divides by 6 or 7. Really though, I don't NEED it...but it's pretty...and if it was only a little cheaper...ya it's only $15 Cdn, but it COULD be like $7. ;)
I promised myself I'm getting the visa to China asap.
Addictions
I'm so addicted to these Frutips Fruit Pastilles...When my class gets boring, which it usually does, I pop one in my mouth. I'm gonna be diebetic by the time I come back to T.O.
My Asian International Relations prof is so confusing! He talks about too many cooks making the soup turn out bad and how if you can't cross the river with your feet touching the floor on each step then you can't get to the other side. Okay, so it makes a little sense, but I'm not Taiwanese...it's amazing I go it. I wonder if the other exchange students got it. Oh well, I guess I'll take the business relations one with the Japanese prof. Mito sensei is SO funny, he took us to the coffee shop and sat down to have a drink with us during break. Mito said he'd take us on a field trip. The other Asian International Relations prof said he'd take us to a fruit market 5 at a time in his car. Hmmm... fruit market... or field trip? I'll stick to my fruit pastilles.
I have no class Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Heh heh. The only class on Tuesday is with Mito sensei, I guess it's good I couldn't get into Asian International Relations, cuz then I'll be going to class 2 days a week!! School isn't exactly easy here either. There's so much work to do. So there isn't a case per week like in Actg2011, but still. There are group projects and it's hard to meet the locals here cuz they're all bunched up in a group already. It's kinda weird how I want to meet more locals than chill with other exchange students. I see other exchange students keeping mostly to themselves too. So far, everyone's from California. Lol.
Today, I gotta go get my add/drop form signed, then hand it in, check my account balance and get school supplies. Argh...I feel so stupid. I brought 3-hole paper, bought a 3-ring binder, then I realized that there's a slim to none chance that I might find a 3-hole hole puncher. AH! Now I gotta go back to that store that Jenny's cousin took me and get all that stuff, unfortunately I don't know where that store is. I just know that after we went to that store, we went for dessert and we entered the MTR through the Yau Ma Tei station. Oh well, I'll go exploring, even though it's raining. Sucks. But it's cooler!!! It's so nice now...well, relatively a lot nicer.
Anyways, hope everyone is taking it easy, and not get too worried about school just yet, it's still the intro week. Sign up with many clubs! Have fun!
10, 18, 50 Past The Hour Only
Long long day today. I had to take the bus from Shaw all the way back down to the station for my chinese class. I'm taking what they call "Hong Kong TV", which used to be "Hong Kong Culture". Their idea of Hong Kong TV is "Gaai Daaih Fun Hei". Lol. Yes, the show that's playing now in T.O with that big family. After we watch 45 minutes of it, we talk about. It's the funniest class. My teacher is teaching us what "mah lat lou" is. I can get mandarin pinyin, but not cantonese. Even the Japanese woman sitting next to me who's taken only 3 years of chinese can write more than I can. Useless...
I was almost late for class today! Almost. The bus down to the station only comes at 10, 18 and 50 minutes past the hour. The other buses make a circular route around the north colleges. I was nervous as the third bus stopped and left, and my bus still didn't come. My other class was Japanese, Chinese and Korean business-government relations. The Japanese sensei teaching it was SO funny! The stuff we were watching were so outdated. Lol. Which can be expected, since he typed up the curriculum the same day I went to sign up for the class.
I also ate dinner with my roomate for the first time today. Everyone kept on telling me that the food at Shaw was the worst on campus. I had to try it anyway. *sigh* The place of course was empty except for my roomate and I. And yup, the food tasted horrible! So much for eating close to home. Doesn't matter what time the place closes now. Nobody goes there. Now, I miss Brock caf food, even the Wendy's, KFC and Subway at York. Blueberry Hill seems like a good choice too even if it's a little more expensive. Looking on the bright side, I get a big bowl of rice and one dish for $4 Cdn. =( One really really not that good tasting dish, and hard rice. I should organize a floor party.
Saturday, Jenny's cousin is taking us to a nearby island to eat seafood! We'll probably stay over one night too! Of course, that is if I get money wired from Canada. =) I paid my hostel deposit. =(
Update on the shoes: I didn't get comfortable shoes yet! But I did meet some girls from U of T and we went shopping for clothes. Don't worry! I'm not fobby yet! I can't seem to want to buy the fob clothes. Well...I had considered...but since you can't try it on, I never bought it. Heh. Those women in "Women's street" are SO bitchy! They tried to get me to buy jeans, from $130 to $95 to $85! THEY took out my size without asking me! They put it next to my waist saying it would fit. They even put it higher than where it should be so it looks like it didn't touch the ground! They practically put the butt part next to my lower back. Oh ya, one of them even said, well if you consider the size of your ass, the fabric will slide upwards so it's not that long. I never asked for a size. I just kept saying no thanks. Really! Geez...don't have to curse me under your breath just cuz I never wanted it in the first place. The one I did want from another store wouldn't give it to me for $85... heh heh... but she'd give it to me for $90. Okay, I didn't want it THAT much. 5 bucks can get me a cold cold drink when I really need it during the afternoons. Lol.
Anyways, I have so much reading. I envy those who had labour day weekend. But HAHAHAHA it's over!!!! Time for hardcore school (Schulich)...get off your lazy asses. Okay, me go call my mom.
Steamed Fresh Milk
Today was probably the best day ever since I got here. I went to eat Japanese noodles and a bowl of steamed fresh milk. The best meal I've had so far. Okay...I dunno how to translate what I ate into english. So a bowl of steamed fresh milk will have to do. Haha. Look...my english is already deteriorating.
Today I also met Jenny's cousin. She's really cool, she took us walking in Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei to look for my digital camera and get school supplies. It's the funniest thing when my exchange friends ask me about places in Hong Kong, like "where are we now?". I have the hardest time telling them. Well...because! How in the world do you say those place names in an english way? Try "Tsim Sha Tsui" when you only know how it sounds in Chinese and you don't know how to spell it. It comes out of my mouth as "cheem sa chui" with the english sounding, fobby way. Next time I'll just pull out my subway map.
School is starting tomorrow...I have to figure out where I'm going. Oh, I'm gonna have a fun time going from one class to another. I have 15 minutes. It's not like York where everything is so bunched up, although the walk from Tait back to Schulich might take a bit longer. I have to get from my residence to the CUHK main entrance. Okay, so I've never really tried walking, cuz I'm afraid of getting lost and then late. But really...I don't mind walking from Shaw Residence to the Entrance cuz it's downhill. Note: Shaw Residence is the farthest residence, situated at the northern part of CU, which is the last stop for the University bus. I'll be lucky tomorrow, my class is at the rez next to us, 1 bus stop away.
Alrighty, I'm so tired. Everyday I'm exhuasted and I'm always hungry. Hmm... I'd like to think that all the walking and heat will be slimming. Heh.
The World of Softener
I've finally settled into my permanent residence! I didn't have internet for almost a week...but it's okay, I'm connected to the world now. Hong Kong is pretty, even though it's hot and humid. I didn't know I was capable of sweating so much. My clean and clear tissue...turns clear. CUHK is also pretty good, I walk mountains everyday. I've learned to take the CUHK bus, the "right" way. The right way is not getting off at the stop closest to where you're going if it means walking uphill. The right way, is getting off at the stop that might be a little farther from where you need to be, but at least it's a downhill walk. These past few days I did a lot of walking. My feet hurt so badly by the end of the day, I want to go get walking shoes but the thought of walking to get them makes my feet hurt even more. So far, I haven't even made a trip to Hong Kong Island yet. I've just been chilling in Sha Tin and Kowloon. Tsim Sha Tsui I consider far too. Ya, I'm so spoiled, and so are my feet. They can really go for a foot massage and pedicure. Registering for my courses was a pain too. I needed to get signatures for each course I wanted to take, which means walking to each department for each signature.
... I dream of poofy, feather pillows and softness...
Today I went on a HK city tour. IASP, the department in charge for my exchange, took us to Stanley Market, Repulse Bay and Victoria Peak. It was a pretty cool tour. The view was really beautiful. I went shopping for better shoes, Stanley market had so many different styles of pumas...I was so tempted...hahaha...I ended up buying dress shoes. Yea I kinda deviated from my goal of buying walking shoes. There were so many soft brands, a brand called soft caught my eye too. I don't think I ever appreciated "Walk on Clouds" or the "Naturalizer" brands as much as I do now. I was also look for a moisturizer. Back in T.O I never thought about that stuff, but now I'm thinking, I need a UV protection, oil-free, matte finish, watery base moisturizer that's not thick when you put it on. Right. This is me being girly, doesn't happen THAT often. I'm thinking about pedicures! Seriously, I don't think I can get any girly-er than this.
I also went to buy laundry detergent and softener. There was no Downy ball. NO Downy ball!!! Walking down that aisle made me think of my feet. There were so many brands I never heard of. I didn't want to get a brand that wasn't good. The last thing I want is to buy a brand of detergent and softener that destroys my clothes. There was softlan, softener, etc, etc. I can't even remember them all. Did I mention I never bought detergent or softener? I'll wash my clothes soon...haha. $3HKD to wash, $1HKD to spin the water out and more money for the dryer. I wonder if anyone steals the clothes that are hung out to dry. I can't see why hanging them out will get the clothes dry though, cuz it's so humid. Bringing the clothes back inside will just cause it to get damp again cuz of all the condensation.
Ever get premonitions, where you know something's gonna happen because you have a feeling, and it's going to happen because you least want it or don't want it at all? Ya...that was me while I was pondering who my roomate would be. She's pretty nice, from Shanghai, so she speaks mostly mandarin. Communication is a problem of course, cuz my mandarin is so shitty. She'll die laughing after hearing my mandarin, I know that for sure, wouldn't wanna cause that.
Anyway, my roomate decided to go to sleep. I hope I don't keep her up I'd feel bad. I think I better talk to her tomorrow about my odd sleep patterns and the different times I come home. Thanks to everyone for praying for me. I haven't gotten sick from the food. The extreme temperature difference between inside and outside hasn't made me sick yet either.
Let's see... My itinerary for tomorrow is meeting up with CUFES, a fellowship on campus, at University station at 10:15am. Hopefully I can meet more locals there, cuz my roomate isn't one. =( Oh wellz... I have to catch the 10am bus. Oh ya, CUHK buses are like the YRT. Yes I know what people think about the YRT. I used to say I hated YRT with a passion, but now saying the same thing about CUHK buses is an understatement. Why didn't I pick a university in the city?!
Oh wells, I'll suck it up and enjoy.
