Last battle with the Registrar

Enrolling is a pain. Especially when I have to work now, and I can't do it during work hours, so I had to take off the morning of work to do it. All in all, it went by smoothly, but unfortunately I needed approval to take my last year of Chinese classes. Three years of university hasn't taught me to go for the interview before enrolment starts.

So, after enrolling at home, I had to make an interview that same day to see the Chinese professor. She happened to be an hour late, which means another hour off work to make up. My interview was at 11:20 and interviews were scheduled to start at 11am. Since she was an hour late, everyone was waiting for her outside the door of her office at 12pm. Being the bum that I am, and knowing that I was already 1 hour late for work, I waited for her too, only not at her office, but right at the elevators. So as soon as the elevator door opened, I introduced myself, telling her of my dilemma and so she ushered me past the many students in the hallway by the door that they were waiting at, into her office. She closed the door. If there was a bad stare by the person who made their interview at 11am, I didn't see it. Thankfully she approved my request, on the condition that my prof didn't mind my previous years of Chinese study. Oh well, if the prof doesn't approve, I'll plead. It's my last year, don't prevent me from graduating.

So as I walked out of the office and down the hall to the elevators I heard the professor asking for the next student who was in line, the reply I heard was "I was at 11:05." Smiling, I hoped that the person who booked 11am wasn't there.
